It is a complete redesign of our 100CPhT course using everything we’ve learned over the last 8 years training thousands of people to pass the PTCB Exam.  This course was built for our students to master the 2023 PTCB knowledge areas.  Upon passing the course you’ll receive a Completion Certificate necessary to take the Pharmacy Technician Certification Exam (PTCE).  It consists of 9 course modules, each with on-demand video, and thousands of practice questions! You’ll be given 5 months from the date of purchase to complete the course, but most of our students finish the curriculum in 4-6 weeks.

Introduction to Pharmacy

In this chapter we will discuss what pharmacy is, the different types of pharmacies and pharmacy personnel, the roles of pharmacy personnel, qualities of successful pharmacy technicians, and the basic principles of becoming a pharmacy technician.

Medical Terminology

The Medical Terminology chapter will set you up with the foundation to speak the pharmacy “language”. To become certified as a pharmacy technician you are responsible for memorizing the Top 200 Medications that are dispensed each year, including their brand name, generic name, medication class, and DEA schedule.

Health Sciences

The Health Sciences chapter will focus on the body and how the body uses medications to achieve their desired effect. During this chapter you will learn about anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, pharmaceutics, and pharmacokinetics while building upon the concepts and medications you learned about in Medical Terminology.

Preparing Prescriptions

Now that we know all about the body and the medications that we use, we will learn about how to prepare prescriptions. This chapter will cover interpreting, preparing, and dispensing prescriptions. This chapter will also cover pharmacy benefits management, sometimes known as insurance billing.

Pharmacy Calculations

This chapter will cover pharmacy calculations. This includes all of the calculations that you may use as a pharmacy technician, including those on the PTCE!

Patient Care Process

This chapter will discuss a concept called the “Pharmacists’ Patient Care Process”, and your role in that process.

Inventory Management

Part of your role as a pharmacy technician will be to help handle inventory.
This chapter will focus on the handling of pharmacy inventory, including medication ordering, returns, and recalls.

Compounding

The compounding chapter is going to introduce you to the process of creating custom medications for patients. You will learn about sterile and non-sterile compounding, including common equipment and techniques.

Regulations

The regulations chapter will solidify the information you’ve learned thus far while also reminding you of the workplace safety and regulatory pieces that contribute to your career. We will discuss common pharmacy organizations and laws, as well as how to get you both certified and licensed as a pharmacy technician!

By passing the Final Course Exam with a score of 90% or above, you will receive the Certification of Completion necessary to sit for the Pharmacy Technician Certification Exam.

Course Layout

Our course contains 9 modules, each containing a series of instructional videos, which are paired with quizzes, simulations, electronic flash-cards, and other learning aids to reinforce key exam objectives. We cover every element of the 2022 PTCB Exam.

123CPhT went into development 6 months after the latest PTCE change in June of 2020 and began enrolling students in July of 2021.

I passed my PTCE test on my first try..The course outlay and focus on the topics was very resourceful. Mr. Preston is very responsive when you need guidance. I highly recommend this course for anyone who is looking to go in this field.

I passed my test two days ago on my first try. This course helped me a lot to prepare myself for the exam. I highly recommended this course!

  3. Elizabeth Thompson (verified student)

This is a great course! The modules are well presented on the topics to pass the PTCE and gives a good foundation in pharmacy history. I really looked forward to my daily study. If I had questions, my emails were always answered promptly. I passed the PTCE on my first attempt! Good value for the money!

  4. Kyle (verified student)

After studying for around a month, passed the PTCE on my first try after taking this class.
The courses are helpful, and the attention to some of the lessons (IE: the drug similarities such as all the drones and statins) is a very important detail that helped.

Even before taking the PTCE, I managed to get a job as a pharmacy technician, and hope that becoming certified will allow me to advance farther in the field.

RXTechExam was a great choice for me for self study and passing the PTCB. It provides a great foundational toolbox to get a good understanding of the basic knowledge needed to pass the exam and its a great choice for motivated self starters who may not have the time for a more traditional program.

I just passed my test today 9/24/22 on my first try! I bought the online course September 7, 2022 and have been studying and taking practice exams every day. I highly recommend this program.

I passed my test today on the first try!
I couldn’t recommend this program more.
The proctors are very helpful, the quizzes are structurally sound, and the programs are very manageable. I was able to really push through the program while I was on maternity leave aka studying on zero sleep with a cry baby so if I could do it so could you!

  11. Mewa Gram (verified student)

I passed the test two days ago and it was my first try. Preston Davis was very quick and nice to respond to my emails.

A great study course. I passed rxtechexam and the exam on my 1st attempt. I feel without this course, I would not have passed on my 1st try.
