Rhode Island Pharmacy Technician Requirements

Rhode Island accepts PTCB Certification as a pathway to licensure. You may become a TECH 2 in RI after passing our course and then passing the PTCB Exam.

Rhode Island State Specific Requirements:

  • You must have a high school diploma or GED
  • You must not be charged or convicted of a felony under any state or federal law and be of good moral character
  • Complete an application with an application fee of $25, and mail to: Room 205, 3 Capitol Hill, Providence, RI 02908-5097

Rhode Island Pharmacy Technician Average Salary: $18.47

Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) Requirements:

Pharmacy Technician Certification Board Continuing Education Requirements:

  • Obtain 20 hours of Continuing Education (CE) during 2 year re-certification cycle
  • 1 hour must be in Pharmacy Law, 1 hour must be in Patient Safety
  • All Continuing Education must be Tech-Specific
  • The PTCB Re-certification Fee is $40 and is payable to the PTCB every 2 years
