Pennsylvania Pharmacy Technician Requirements

The Pennsylvania Board of Pharmacy does not have any strict prerequisites regarding the practice of Pharmacy Technicians. Many employers will require that you are certified through the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB). Additionally, a law was passed December of 2020 requiring new technicians to complete a board recognized training program, which doesn’t appear to be defined now, two years later. It does appear that there will be a change to this regulation soon. Please make sure to consult the PA State Board of Pharmacy with any questions regarding qualifications.
