New Mexico Pharmacy Tech Requirements

The New Mexico Board of Pharmacy accepts the certification of the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB). In order to obtain the title of Certified Pharmacy Technician, you must prepare for and pass the PTCB Exam with a prerequisite course like ours, 123CPhT.
New Mexico State Certified Pharmacy Tech Requirements:
- You must be at least 18 years old
- You must have a high school diploma or GED
- Mail in a completed application with $30 Fee to 5200 Oakland Ave NE, Suite A, Albuquerque New, Mexico 87113
- Complete the online application ($70 Fee)
- Applicant must submit a completed application, fees, and a copy of your current certification from Pharmacy Technician
Certification Board (PTCB) or Institute for the Certification of Pharmacy Technicians (ExCPT) Your license will expire bi-annual on
the last day of your birth month and must be renewed prior to expiration date
New Mexico Pharmacy Technician Average Salary: $18.12/hr
Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) Requirements:
- You must have not been convicted of any felonies or drug related misdemeanors
- Study for the Pharmacy Technician Certification Exam (PTCE)
- Complete the application process at PTCB.org and include, as part of the application process, pay the exam fee of $129
Pharmacy Technician Certification Board Continuing Education Requirements:
- Obtain 20 hours of Continuing Education (CE) during 2 year re-certification cycle
- 1 hour must be in Pharmacy Law, 1 hour must be in Patient Safety
- All Continuing Education must be Tech-Specific
- The PTCB Re-certification Fee is $40 and is payable to the PTCB every 2 years
