- Pass the PTCB Exam
- Completion of 500 hours of training and experience as a registered Pharmacy Technician in Training (PTT), with affidavit from your managing pharmacist
Nevada State Specific Requirements:
- Certification by the PTCB or the NHA as a Pharmacy Tech and completion of at least 500 hours of training and experience as a registered PTT employed in Nevada licensed pharmacies, which must be verified by the managing pharmacist of the pharmacy.
a. Provide a copy of your PTCB or NHA certification (i.e. CPhT or ExCPT certification)
b. Provide a signed form from your managing pharmacist that you have completed 500 hours of
employment in a pharmacy in this state as a registered PTT.

Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) Requirements:
- You must have not been convicted of any felonies or drug related misdemeanors
- You must study for the Pharmacy Technician Certification Exam (PTCE)
- Complete the application process at PTCB.org and include, as part of the application process, pay the exam fee of $129
Pharmacy Technician Certification Board Continuing Education Requirements:
- Obtain 20 hours of Continuing Education (CE) during 2 year re-certification cycle
- 1 hour must be in Pharmacy Law, 1 hour must be in Patient Safety
- All Continuing Education must be Tech-Specific
- The PTCB Re-certification Fee is $40 and is payable to the PTCB every 2 years
