Every once in a while, a few simple words remind us exactly why we do what we do. This week, one of our students left us a Google review that stopped our entire team in its tracks:
“This was an amazing and informative program for me. I have restored my love for pharmacy.”
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ — Paul W.
It wasn’t simply the five-star rating that resonated with us. It was the last sentence: “I have restored my love for pharmacy.” Those seven words represent something much bigger than passing an exam. They represent hope, purpose, and the reminder that education has the power to transform not only careers but also how we feel about the profession we have chosen.
There is no denying that healthcare is demanding. Across every practice setting, professionals are navigating staffing shortages, increasing workloads, evolving regulations, and the emotional weight that comes with caring for patients. Pharmacy technicians experience these same pressures every day. Many entered this profession because they wanted to help others, improve lives, and be part of a healthcare team. Yet over time, the daily demands of the job can overshadow the passion that brought them here in the first place.
At RxTechExam, we believe education should accomplish far more than preparing someone to pass the Pharmacy Technician Certification Exam (PTCE). Certification is an important milestone, but our responsibility extends beyond that moment. Every lesson we develop, every email we answer, every phone call we return, every conference we attend, and every student we encourage is an opportunity to help someone believe in themselves again. Education builds knowledge, but it also builds confidence. Confidence inspires leadership, and leaders have the power to transform professions.
Student success is not simply a department within our organization. It is the foundation of our culture. When a learner reaches out with a question, they are never viewed as an interruption to our day. They are the reason we are here. Whether a student is struggling with pharmacology, calculations, or memorizing the Top 200 medications, our goal is not just to provide an answer. We want to encourage them, coach them, and remind them that every experienced pharmacy professional once stood exactly where they are today. Success is measured not only by certification rates, but by the confidence our students gain throughout their journey.
Advocacy is another pillar of our mission. People often associate advocacy with legislative visits, conferences, or policy discussions, and those efforts are incredibly important. However, advocacy also happens in quieter moments. It happens every time an educator stays after class to help a student understand a difficult concept. It happens when an employer invests in developing their technicians. It happens when a pharmacist mentors a technician, when a colleague encourages another to pursue certification, and when someone chooses to keep going instead of giving up. Advocacy begins with investing in people.
Leadership follows the same principle. Great leaders do more than build successful organizations; they create environments where people want to learn, grow, and succeed. They celebrate progress, recognize effort, and inspire others to pursue excellence. Those are the qualities our profession needs, and they are the qualities we strive to demonstrate every day at RxTechExam.
None of this happens in isolation. The future of pharmacy technician education depends on strong partnerships. We are incredibly grateful to work alongside educators, employers, workforce development organizations, colleges, health systems, pharmacy associations, PTCB, PTEC, and countless pharmacy leaders who share a common vision of elevating the profession. Every partnership expands opportunities for students, strengthens the workforce, and ultimately improves patient care.
What makes Paul’s review especially meaningful is that it reminded us that sometimes the smallest moments have the greatest impact. Many people view Google reviews as marketing metrics or testimonials. We see something much more personal. We see a student who rediscovered the excitement that first inspired them to pursue pharmacy. We see someone whose confidence has been renewed. We see confirmation that our mission is making a difference.
Those few words energized our entire team. They reminded us why we continually improve our courses, travel across the country to support educators, advocate for pharmacy technicians, answer questions with empathy, and celebrate every student’s success. The greatest reward is not another enrollment or another certification. It is knowing that we helped someone reconnect with the profession they love.
As we continue moving forward, our mission remains clear. We are committed to advocating for the profession, inspiring the next generation of pharmacy professionals, delivering educational excellence, building meaningful partnerships, developing leaders, and supporting every student with empathy and purpose. If, along the way, we can help someone restore their love for pharmacy, then we know we are making a lasting impact.
When we restore confidence in one pharmacy technician, we strengthen one pharmacy. When we strengthen one pharmacy, we strengthen one community. And when thousands of pharmacy professionals rediscover why they chose this profession, we help move healthcare forward.
Paul, thank you for reminding us why our work matters. Your words reaffirmed our commitment to this profession and strengthened our resolve to continue uplifting every learner who places their trust in RxTechExam.
Wishing you success,
Dr. Abel Guevara III, CPhTAdv
